Crowns and Bridges at Jindalee Complete Dental
You want your teeth to be healthy and vital throughout your lifetime. At Jindalee Complete Dental, we take a preventative approach that ensures your natural teeth are protected whenever possible. Our restorative dentistry measures include crowns and bridges, which can repair damage to your teeth or replace teeth that are missing.
Our local laboratory will expertly design your crown or bridge to make sure that you enjoy the full function and aesthetics of your smile. Your restoration will look perfectly natural and is matched to your existing teeth for a seamless look.
Protective Crowns
A crown is like a cap that goes over a tooth that needs extra support. A filling isn’t enough to address your tooth’s damage. A crown is more substantial, covering the entire tooth to the gum line. Your tooth may have been broken off, cracked, chipped or has simply worn down over time. The crown will protect the entire tooth so that you can eat your favourite foods without concern.
If you have had root canal treatment, we will likely recommend that you have a crown placed afterwards to give your treated tooth greater stability.
Bridges to Replace Teeth
Gaps in your smile can be the result of tooth decay, infection, trauma and more. You’ve considered replacing your tooth but might be unsure as to which solution is right for you. Our bridges are made up of several crowns joined together. The ones on each end are anchored to the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth. The middle crowns are then suspended into the open space
The middle crowns are suspended just above your gums so that you can enjoy the full function of teeth without having any pressure on your gums or jaw.
If you need a crown or bridge, you’ll have two appointments with our team. At your first visit with us, we’ll gather information such as impressions that our laboratory needs to fabricate your restoration. You’ll leave with a temporary crown or bridge in place. When it has been created, you’ll return to our clinic for your second appointment. We’ll then place your crown or bridge. If you and your dentist are satisfied with it, we’ll cement your crown or bridge Jindalee into place.
Porcelain isn’t subject to tooth decay or discolouration as your natural teeth are. It’s important to know, however, that acids and plaque can gather around the edge of your restoration and damage the underlying tooth. You may also still get gum disease around the restoration. It’s essential that you brush, floss and have your regular dental checkups with us so that we can check your crown or bridge.
