Comfort and Safety
You may have seen “boil and bite” mouthguard kits at the chemist. We don’t recommend these kits to our patients. Why? They’re nothing like the professional-grade ones you’ll get when you go to an experienced dentist.

The kits you can buy to create a mouthguard will likely have a bulky fit. If they aren’t snug against your teeth, they can’t provide the proper measure of protection. You’ll probably find it difficult to speak clearly and won’t be able to drink water without removing it.
The Process of Getting a Mouthguard
If you or your child would like to be fitted for a mouthguard, you just have to contact our practice to book in for a visit. We’ll take impressions of your teeth. These impressions are then sent off to our local laboratory. Your mouthguard will be fabricated there. You can choose to have it made in your favourite colour or team colour. When the laboratory sends it back, you can pick it up and start wearing it straightaway.
Flexibility and Convenience
We understand that it can be difficult to find the time to get in for your dental visits. That’s why we’re open six days a week. Your child won’t have to miss school with a convenient Saturday appointment. We also provide late opening hours so that you won’t have to take off work to get in.
